What this error means
WhatsApp enforces a 24-hour customer service window: after the last message from the user, you can only send free-form messages within 24 hours. After that window closes, you must use an approved message template (marketing, utility, or authentication) to re-initiate the conversation.
Common causes
- •More than 24 hours have passed since the recipient last replied.
- •You attempted to send a free-form (non-template) message outside the 24-hour window.
How to fix
- Send an approved message template instead of a free-form message.
- Wait for the user to reply to reopen the 24-hour messaging window.
- After the user replies, you can resume sending free-form messages for another 24 hours.
